Owl Watching in Havelock
When the forest goes quiet, listen for wings.
- Duration
- 2 hours
What to bring: shoes, full trousers, hat, sunscreen and mosquito repellent
Sessions can run longer depending on guest interest and availability.
As daylight fades, Havelock’s forest begins to change. Birds settle into their roosts, nocturnal creatures become active, and the calls of the night begin to fill the darkness.
Owl watching is an opportunity to experience this quieter side of the island.
Rather than searching for a guaranteed sighting, we walk slowly and listen carefully. A soft call from the trees, movement among the branches, or a silent shape passing overhead can reveal the presence of an owl.
A Night of Patience
Owls are masters of camouflage and quiet movement. Finding one can take time — and that is part of the experience.
We keep our voices low, use light responsibly, and give wildlife plenty of space. The goal is not simply to get a photograph, but to observe these remarkable nocturnal birds without disturbing them.
See the Forest Differently
Night changes the way we experience a forest.
Familiar trees become silhouettes, ordinary sounds become clues, and every movement makes you look a little closer.
Listen. Wait. Look up.
At Andamanica, owl watching is about discovering the nocturnal side of Havelock — patiently, quietly and with respect for the wildlife that calls the island home.
When the sun goes down, the forest doesn’t sleep. It simply tells a different story.
