About Andaman & Havelock
A Love for the Islands
Some places are chosen. Others choose you.
For us, the Andamans began as a fascination with a place that felt wonderfully distant — a chain of islands surrounded by blue, shaped by forests, tides, coral reefs, rain, and stories that have travelled across generations.
And then there was Havelock.
Today known as Swaraj Dweep, Havelock has a character of its own. Its forests meet the sea, quiet roads disappear into green, and the rhythm of island life is naturally slower. Beyond its beaches lies another world — mangroves, reefs, marine life, birds, and dense tropical forests.
It was this connection between land and sea, nature and people, adventure and stillness that drew us here.
Why We Chose the Islands
We chose the Andamans because they still offer something increasingly rare: the feeling of being somewhere that has not been completely defined for you.
There is always another trail, another tide, another stretch of coastline, another story waiting to be discovered.
But we also believe that experiencing the islands comes with a responsibility.
The Andamans are beautiful precisely because their ecosystems are fragile. Their forests, coral reefs, mangroves, beaches, and wildlife need care. The communities who call these islands home deserve respect. And the character of the islands should not be lost in the rush to develop them.
Andamanica was born from this belief — that discovering the islands and protecting what makes them special should go hand in hand.
We chose the islands not simply because they are beautiful, but because they made us slow down, look closer, and appreciate the extraordinary world around us.
And Havelock became a natural place to begin.
This is our story of the Andamans — one island, one trail, one tide, and one story at a time.
